Marc E. Bassy's "Groovy People" EP is Required Summertime Listening

The Republic-signed singer/songwriter's new EP, a perfect balance of pop and soul, is out now.

Last summer, Marc E. Bassy came through (our former) DJBooth headquarters in New York for a drink and to perform a handful of acoustic records. Before picking up his guitar, he graciously accepted a glass of whisky at 11:30 AM, the same drink I poured for myself. Don't judge us.

Fast forward one year, the singer/songwriter and a former Top Prospect is a now priority at Republic Records and recently wrapped up an opening slot on tour with now-superstar G-Eazy

Today, Bassy has released his new EP, Groovy People, a breezy five-track project compared more accurately to a mint julep than the straight whisky we shared last year.

Led by the G-Eazy-assisted poolside jam "You & Me," this brief collection of songs is a perfect balance of pop and soul, ideal for a summer weekend release with it's slow-moving vibes and light-hearted grooves, brought to life with plenty of live instrumentation.

The entire EP is available now for digital purchase on iTunes and free streaming via Spotify (see below). For more from Bassy, we recommend you check out last year's excellent East Hollywood EP.
