Isaiah Rashad Releases New "Free Lunch" Single, It's Real Good
Seven months ago, TDEpromised their fans that 2016 would bring new albums from ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, SZA and Isaiah Rashad. Three of those four albums, however, are still sitting on MixedByAli's studio hard drive.
Following the recent release of Q's Blank Face LP, which has received favorable reviews, and five months removed from Kendrick Lamar's surprise Untitled Unmastered project, it appears the second of those four promised albums is just around the corner.
On Saturday, TDE CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith cryptically tweeted the following:
While it's currently unclear which TDE artist will be releasing a new album on September 2, if that is the plan at all, the tweet was followed on Sunday by a brand new single from Isaiah Rashad, entitled "Free Lunch."

Released as an Apple Music exclusive, the Cam O'bi-produced "Free Lunch" isn't just an enjoyable record because the absence of music tends to make the heart ears grow fonder -- Rashad has unearthed less than five total records since the January, 2014, release of his TDE debut Cilvia Demo -- but because his flow is effortless, he's able to ride the beat like a veteran porn star, and when Rashad suggests you "get your meal ticket, ticket, ticket," you're instantly hungry for more.
Just don't go dreaming about a 12-track album full of "Free Lunch" records, though. Remember, two months before the end of 2015, Rashad hinted that his long-awaited sophomore album would be released before the new year. Nine months later, the Tennessee native has only released a visual for "Smile" and was a guest alongside SZA on Childish Major's "Happy Birthday" single.
If this is what free lunch tastes like, though, we're ready for dinner to be served.
