Vince Staples Announces "Prima Donna" EP, Summer is Just Beginning

After a little more than a year, the Def Jam emcee is ready to follow up his critically acclaimed debut.

It's been just over a year since Long Beach emcee Vince Staples burst onto hip-hop's collective radar with his debut album Summertime '06, and now as we reach the pinnacle of summertime '16 it looks like Staples is ready for round two.

On Monday (August 15), Staples, one of the most interesting artists in rap, announced the forthcoming release of Prima Donna, an EP set to drop on August 26.

The EP will feature production from James Blake, No I.D., and DJ Dahi, as well as features from A$AP Rocky and Kilo Kish.

Both the (cool as hell) artwork and the title of the project hint at Vince's internal struggle with success, which, knowing Vince, should make for some very compelling content.

Calboy Is a Trendsetter

Chicago rapper Calboy fuses a classic style with a fun personality. His story, which he breaks down for Audiomack World, mirrors the PUMA story.

And with a production and guest feature list this stacked, you can officially mark this project as a highly-anticipated release:

  1. War Ready
  2. Smile
  3. Loco feat. Kilo Kish
  4. Prima Donna feat. A$AP Rocky
  5. Pimp Hand
  6. Big Time

Staples will also be releasing 5,000 limited edition vinyl copies of the project on his website. Pre-order begins August 19. Mark those calendars.
