At long last, Mick Jenkins will release his highly-anticipated debut album, The Healing Component, on September 23, via his own Free Nation label.

In celebration of the announcement, the Chicago emcee and former DJBooth Top Prospect has let loose the project’s official first single, “Spread Love.”

Produced by Sango, “Spread Love” is a soothing, feel-good effort that envelops the listener like warm water, which is fitting for an artist responsible for whetting our appetites with two acclaimed projects named after the all-powerful H2O: 2014’s The Water[s] and 2015’s Wave[s].

The Healing Component is “a reference to love being the quintessential healing component and love being able to heal all,” which should help to provide some healthy context in addition to the obvious weed reference. The album will also be supported by a 12-city North American tour with fellow Midwest rapper Smino, Red Bull Sound Select Presents: A Quest For Love.

“Just trying to see how much love is out there in the world in a time where we need it the most. It’s so easy to hate, have a negative opinion. I want to actively talk about love- what it is, what it means to people, what it looks like and in just mere conversation that energy might be transferred. But with the music, that is precisely what we aim to do.” - Mick Jenkins on the tour and its name.

You can find the full list of dates below, and purchase tickets via Red Bull Sound Select.
