Holy Sh*t You Need To Watch DJ Shadow & Run The Jewels' "Nobody Speak" Video

The legendary producer/DJ brings out Run The Jewels for glorious, Funny Or Die-premiered visuals.

For those not in the know, sampling master DJ Shadow recently released his first album in five years, the ambitious The Mountain Will Fall. Shadow is still surfing on a wave of legendary status achieved by his debut Endtroducing....., which despite turning 20 this year has continued to push the boundaries of what producers are capable of for two decades strong.

A standout selection from his latest offering features two other legendary hip-hop fixtures, Killer Mike and El-P, in their critically-acclaimed, industry shaking duo form, Run The Jewels. The new video for their collaborative single, “Nobody Speaks,” was released earlier today, and it's most definitely Holy Sh*t worthy. Seriously, press play.

The video, which depicts world leaders getting into an all out brawl while rapping the lyrics of Jamie and Mikey, respectively, was premiered by the Will Ferrell-founded production company Funny Or Die. Given the circus act of an election campaign we're all currently enduring, the release of this video couldn't have been more timely.

When asked about the direction of the video, Killer Mike, as per usual, offered a poignant response based in the mindset of the working class intellectual he's so supremely come to represent:

It's such a dope video. It's what I really wish Trump and Hillary would just do and get it over with...And even in that fight I think Hillary would win - and that's not an endorsement.

As for DJ Shadow's background on the intent behind the video: "We wanted to make a positive, life-affirming video that captures politicians at their election-year best. We got this instead.”

While Run The Jewels’ acumen for social relevance is nothing new, it’s great to see an entity like Funny Or Die - which exists outside the often brutal depiction of current events represented by hip-hop artists - jump in on the fun and share creative vision with some of our culture’s deserved leaders.
