Just when you thought 2016 couldn’t get any better.
“Saturday Night Live” announced today (November 4) that their November 12 episode will be hosted by none other than legendary comedian Dave Chappelle.
As if that news wasn’t enough to trigger a mild heart attack, the musical guest for the episode will be A Tribe Called Quest, who will have released We got it from Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, their first (and final) album in 18 years, the day before.
I truly don’t know which appearance I'm more excited about. Chappelle’s Show has been such a huge part of my life and that of many others, and to know the king of sketch comedy is going to be returning to his forte after a decade of TV silence is damn near parade-worthy.

Pop anti-hero EKKSTACY finds his aggressive voice on his new album, 'misery.' He breaks down his journey through writer's block for Audiomack World.
A Tribe Called Quest as the musical guests, though? The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as we’re going to be collectively reeling from the release of their first album in nearly two decades. And the pairing couldn’t be better either—Chappelle is a long-time friend of ATCQ, and Q-Tip’s appearance on Chappelle’s Show back in the day was one of the show’s many moments of greatness.
Considering the length of their hiatus and the recent loss of the legendary Phife Dawg, this will surely be a performance for the books, and the addition of Chappelle as host has my expectations for the episode at an all time high.
Chappelle’s back. ATCQ are back, and if only for a short time, all is well in the cosmos.
