New Lupe Fiasco albums, yes albums, as in plural, are headed our way in 2016.
This past Friday, on the 8th anniversary of his The Cool album, Fiasco tweeted that the sequel, The Cool 2, won’t be ready for release until winter of 2017. Naturally, fans of the Chicago emcee were disappointed that they’d have to wait two years for a new full body of work.
Two days later, though, that disappointment has turned into unbridled excitement thanks to a new tweet from Fiasco:
Attention Lupe Fans:
3 full album releases in 2016. 🙏🏾#Drogas is up first.
Not taking any questions at this time.
Thank you.

Whoa! Three full albums? In one year? All before The Cool 2?
The first LP will be entitled Drogas, a release date for which has yet to be announced by the artist. Fiasco later tweeted that a song entitled “Mural Jr” will be included on the album, a follow-up to Tetsuo & Youth include “Mural.”
2015 was an incredible year for major hip-hop releases thanks to Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Future, Action Bronson, Mac Miller and more, but with a potential J. Cole and Kendrick collaborative effort, a new LP from Eminem and three full albums from Lupe Fiasco all headed our way in 2016, the best might be yet to come.
Update: On Christmas morning, Lupe announced the titles for all three of his planned 2016 album releases.
The names of the next 3 full LUPE releases for 2016 are:
"DROGAS"
"SKULLS"
"ROY"
Thank you fans for your continued support! 🎅🏾
