Royce da 5'9" Teases DJ Premier Production for 'PRhyme 2' Album

Finally, an update beyond just verbal confirmation.

Royce da 5'9" and his PRhyme partner in crime DJ Premier have been talking about the sequel to their December 2014 debut for the past 13 months, but up until this week, we've only received verbal updates.

In a video posted to his Instagram on Wednesday evening (May 17), Royce takes fans inside the studio for a behind-the-scenes glimpse at DJ Premier in beatmaking action.

Sure, the clip is barely 15 seconds long, but did it take that long to get you hooked once the beat dropped on "Mass Appeal"? (The answer is no.)

5 New Albums You Need to Hear This Week

Lil Nas X, Tems, Tion Wayne, Injury Reserve, and Unusual Demont all have albums you need this week on Audiomack.

In April 2016, in an interview with DJBooth, Royce confirmed that he and his legendary production partner had begun working on PRhyme 2. After almost 11 months without a second update, this past March, Premo finally revealed that the project was almost done. "I’m one song away from finishing but we still have to mix and we have features," he told Billboard

There is currently no set release date for the new LP, but in the meantime, I'd encourage all PRhyme fans to press play on Royce's holy shit-worthy verse on Westside Gunn’s “100k Machine Gunz.”
