DJ Khaled has released "To the Max," a brand new single featuring Drake off his forthcoming 10th studio album, Grateful, due out June 23 via Epic Records.
Produced by JayO—not Cool & Dre as we previously reported—"To the Max" employs Florida's famous jook music sound and features a sped-up vocal sample of MajorNine from 2015's "Gus Get Em Right."
Isaiah Rashad, Skepta & Sarkodie: Best of the Week
Isaiah Rashad, Skepta, Sarkodie all released new songs that were selected for Audiomack’s ‘Best of the Week.’
Not to be confused with Chicago juke music, jook is a brand of hip-hop born in Tampa Bay, Florida in the early '90s, which incorporates elements of bass music and dancehall. It's commonly referred to and mistaken for "bounce" or "booty music."
"To the Max" is the fifth collaboration between the Miami-based hitmaker and his close friend from Toronto—"Fed Up," "I'm On One," "No New Friends," "For Free"—and follows Khaled's star-studded, No. 1 hit single "I'm The One," as well as "Shining," featuring Jay Z and Beyoncé.
Edit: A previous version of this article incorrectly credited Cool & Dre as the song's producers.
