In an interview on OTHERtone on Beats1 this past weekend, rising superstar Lil Uzi Vert revealed that he and Pharrell are currently working together on new music.
"The beats that I have for him right now, the ones that I've just [done] recently—like some of the newest zones that I'm in—he's kinda getting like a super fresh iteration of where I am and where some of our stuff is right now," said Pharrell.
For Uzi, getting the chance to work with Pharrell is a dream come true. In an interview with Complex in 2016, the rapper called Pharrell a "genius" and one of his biggest influences (along with Kanye West).
As for the Philly native's long-delayed full-length debut, Luv is Rage 2, which we reported in May was being held up because of the overwhelming streaming success of Uzi's hit singles, like "XO Tour Llif3," until the album is 100% complete, Uzi considers the album to be at "0%."
"Well, it's either zero or 100," said Uzi. "So, I'll say zero."
While fans might be sick and tired of waiting on the album's release, Pharrell Williams isn't a producer you say "no" to.
Later in the interview, Uzi also discussed his super fandom of Marilyn Manson (he was hated on by his friends for listening to Manson) and how he's spent his post-fame money (jewelry, cars, clothes and a house in the suburbs for his grandmother).
