Post Malone's "rockstar" Generated $277k in Total Song Revenue Last Week

Enough to buy a beerbong and a Bentley.

Post Malone's hit single "rockstar," which is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, generated $277,325 in total song revenue this past week, according to HDD. Since it's release on September 15, the song has generated more than $500k in total revenue.

Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," which is the only song ahead of Malone's "rockstar" on Billboard, was the second highest earner this past week, generating $160,760 in total song revenue.

Total song revenue comes from a combination of digital single sales and streams. For Malone's "rockstar," the sales to streams split from Thursday, September 28 through Thursday, October 5 was $38,794 for 42,631 digital sales and $238,531 for a whopping 35,685,833 streams.

What Do Booking Agents Do?

Live performance is so important that crafting such a strategy requires input from not just a manager, but also a booking agent.

As a result of the success of the 21 Savage-assisted "rockstar," which is currently averaging 12 million plays per day on Spotify over the past seven days, Malone's previous hit "Congratulations" jumped 25-to-19 on the HDD Song Revenue Chart, earning $63,653 over the past week, while fellow Stoney single "I Fall Apart" also bound four spots, bringing in $62,226.

If you're wondering whether or not $277k in song revenue for one week is any good, earlier this year, at the height of the song's success, DJ Khaled's "I'm The One" brought in $377k over seven days, which is tops for 2017.
