50 Cent is "Still Recording" 'Street King Immortal', Might Officially Sign Uncle Murda to G-Unit

"It's as thrilling as my first [album]."

50 Cent has been teasing his sixth studio album, Street King Immortal, for seven years, and in a newly-published column in The New York Times, the veteran rapper says he's still recording.

"Right now I’m in the middle of recording my sixth album, but it’s as thrilling as my first," 50 told NYT columnist Shivani Vora for Sunday Routine.

In addition to working on his long-delayed project, 50 also revealed that he's constantly listening to new music, trying to find new acts to sign to his once-burgeoning label, G-Unit Records. At the top of his list? One time foe turned friend, Uncle Murda.

Sarkodie, Offset Jim & ALEMEDA: Best of the Week

Sarkodie, Offset Jim, and ALEMEDA, among others, had the best new songs on Audiomack this week.

"Right now, I’m considering a rapper called Leonard Grant. He’s been around for a while and is very talented but has never had a strong push behind him," 50 said.

In December 2016, several outlets reported that Uncle Murda was officially signed to G-Unit—which would go against 50's latest comments—however, it's possible 50's plan has to rebrand Murda using his government name.

Given his intense non-music work schedule, which includes a hit TV show on Starz (Power), alate-night show on BET (50 Central), and several upcoming film roles, it's hard to see where 50 will find the time to both complete his new full-length and oversee the career of a new signee, but if anyone can do it, it's Curtis James Jackson III.

50 recently released the Jeremih-assisted single "Still Think I'm Nothing," which received a mixed reaction from our writing staff at DJBooth.
