Jay Rock to Release New Album Through TDE and Interscope

Jay Rock's next album will include the assistance of a major label.

Jay Rock has yet to unveil a title or release date for his forthcoming third studio album, but in a new interview with REAL 92.3 LA, the veteran MC loosely confirmed that the project will be released through both TDE and Interscope.

In an email to DJBooth, an Interscope representative has confirmed that Rock's LP, which will include lead single "King's Dead," featuring Kendrick Lamar, Future and James Blake, will indeed be a joint release. Jay Rock's last album, 2015's 90059, was released without the assistance of a major label partner.

Rock has not yet shared any specifics about his new partnership with Interscope—the same label that signed both Kendrick and ScHoolboy Q in 2012—but much like labelmate SZA, who joined forces with RCA last year for the release of her GRAMMY-nominated Ctrl album, he stands to benefit from the increased marketing and promotion that the label will provide.

Rock was mum on sharing most of the details surrounding the project but did confirm that his work on it is complete, he has recorded "several" records with Future, Kendrick will make multiple guest appearances, and production credits include Cardo, J. LBS, Sounwave, and Nascent.

This Friday, January 19, Rock's labelmate SiR will release his first full-length project on TDE, entitled November. Jay Rock is in the on-deck circle.
