Vince Staples Earns First Career RIAA Certification for “Norf Norf”

From the city where the skinny carry strong heat.

Vince Staples has made it known he doesn't care about album sales or accolades, but earlier this month, the West Coast MC quietly earned his first career RIAA certification (Gold) for "Norf Norf," a Clams Casino-produced single from his 2015 album Summertime '06.

Last summer, in an interview with LA Weekly, Staples called people not liking his music "a win," but in earning a certification equal to at least 500,000 copies sold—this total includes both digital sales and streaming equivalents—the 24-year-old might need to reassess the meaning of that word.
