On "Wassup," a Big Sean-assisted record off his newly-released project Bobby Tarantino II, Logic raps, "I just updated my old deal / Told Def Jam no less than 20 mil' / And they cut that shit."
Evidently, the 28-year-old MC has an incredible lawyer because, according to Logic, the final price tag on his new record deal with Def Jam is a whopping eight figures.
"When I first signed my deal, I signed and the advance was like 200 grand. So going from Section 8 and food stamps and welfare to 200 grand was life-changing," Logic told Zane Lowe during an interview on Apple Music. "But the life change I'm talking about is the 30 million dollar deal I just signed. Like that shit, that freaked me out. I felt like a target."
Understandable. I'd also freak out if I checked my bank account and saw $30,000,000. Hell, I'd freak out if I checked my bank account and saw $3,000,000. (Who am I kidding, I'd freak out if my bank account read $300,000.)
Though Logic's new deal has deservedly elevated the star from rich to generationally wealthy, he wasn't exactly broke before he signed his new deal. In 2017, Forbes named him one of their '30 Under 30'.
"Everybody knows I can rap, everybody knows I have something to say, now just let's turn up," Logic added.
Shit, I'd do the same thing if I was able to earn that kind of payday.
