A$AP Rocky’s highly anticipated third studio album, Testing, is nearly here.
In his most recent Complex cover story, Rocky broke down the album's experimental foundations and fired off a handful of his collaborators.
“I’ve discovered sounds that I’ve never heard before, so I’m trying to manifest all of that into my new stuff,” Rocky said. To help him manifest his new sonic palette, Rocky spearheaded the production for Testing but also enlisted the likes of Tyler, The Creator, Hector Delgado, Kanye West, Dean Blunt, Dev Hynes, Skepta, and more to assist with production and creative input.

Regarding Tyler, who, along with Frank Ocean, he considers two of his "best collaborators," Rocky further explained: “Working with those two guys has been quite the experience. On a creative level, everybody gets it. And not only that, those guys are elite. Those guys are geniuses.”
Rocky described Tyler’s newest creative renaissance as “crazy” and an entirely new chapter for the artist.
Testing has, so far, had a curious roll-out, with a grip of singles and throwaways released on SoundCloud, followed by the release of the official lead single “A$AP Forever.” Late Sunday evening (May 20), following a "performance piece" with Sotheby's in New York entitled Lab Rat, Rocky tweeted a picture of the N.W.A-esque album cover as well as confirmation that the album is completed.
With so many capable artists behind the boards and in Rocky’s sphere of creative influence, at the least, Testing stands to be a captivating listen.
