Mac Miller (born Malcolm McCormick), according to various reports, is dead as a result of an apparent drug overdose. He was 26.
TMZ, who broke the story late Friday afternoon, has learned through law enforcement sources that Miller was found unresponsive at his San Fernando Valley home. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Fresh off the release of his latest album, Swimming, Miller sat down earlier this month with Vulture‘s Craig Jenkins about his battle with depression.
“My brother was as happy as I’ve ever seen him. Whatever lead to this was not cuz he was in a dark place,” producer E.Dan of ID Labs tweeted following the news of Miller’s passing. E.Dan first worked with the Pittsburgh-born Miller on his 2010 mixtape K.I.D.S.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.

He was a real good dude. He supported my🎵. More than many cats here in my own city. He would invite me over 2 jam. But, my social anxiety (as of late..) azz never went. But, we’d text often. I’ve played on 2 LP’s of his. Was almost on that Tour. Me & D.R.A.M.
