Not all collaborative projects are created equal. According to Mike WiLL Made-It, Creed II: The Album, the soundtrack to the forthcoming film starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, is not only the greatest collaborative project of 2018—a year that includes the acclaimed Black Panther The Album—but also the greatest in our lifetime, perhaps.

In an Instagram post, Mike made it apparent that the record is the “COLLABORATIVE PROJECT OF THE YEAR, OR MAYBE OF OUR GENERATION [sic],” no cap. He also teased an additional feature on the now-confirmed Kendrick Lamar track on the album.

To be fair, Mike is a bit biased, as he is executive producing the album. But "greatest of our generation" is beyond lofty praise, so he's setting the bar pretty high.

The last time Kendrick Lamar was involved with an album attached to a film, it ended up being one of the best albums of the year. Does this mean Creed II: The Album has to live up to the Black Panther album? Yes. Does Mike WiLL Made-It’s confidence allude to the fact that the record will shatter expectations? Also yes, but only time will tell.

In the meantime, our first taste of the soundtrack, "Kill 'Em With Success" with Eearz, ScHoolboy Q, and 2 Chainz, was one of the best new songs of the week
