Denzel Curry season has approached faster than we expected. Not even a year out from his last album, TABOO, a standout release in 2018, Curry is back with ZUU, coming Friday, May 31.
The album has Curry's signature raucous energy and fire, but with a twist—he spits the whole thing off the dome. In a new interview with HotNewHipHop, Curry revealed his process as fluid as ever.
"I freestyled the whole [album]," he said. "Went from mind to mic. The pen and the pad is the middle-man if you already know what you’re going to say."

We talk to the Surf Gang artist about microdosing alternative music in his raps.
He continued: "I just wanted to keep it simple and plain. Straight to the point. Just get down to business. Forget the dilly-dallying."
Not only is this exceptionally impressive, but it also reflects in the impact and intensity of the album. ZUU is a biting and cutting affair; there is nary a moment of hesitation. Curry does not let up on the album, making it one of the most bombastic releases of 2019. Making good shit is Curry's only focus.
