The Soundset 2015 Festival Line-Up Looks Pretty Amazing

Whenever a festival lineup is released, I immediately scan the list for names I recognize. No matter how many hip-hop artists they have, it's never enough; live hip-hop is the greatest. I'm not traveling across the country to see 27 indie-hipster bands with an accordion player (no shots fired at accordion players). Too much hassle, not enough hip-hop; it's why I don't go to festivals. That being said, when I checked this Soundset lineup, I began running to Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. If I start now, I can totally get there by May 24.

Now in its eighth year, Soundset has become a staple in the hip-hop community and with a lineup that boasts heavy-hitters like J.Cole, Logic, Yelawolf, Ludacris and Big Sean it's not hard to see why. It's not all about the major label artists either. With Rhymesayers helping run the show the indie word is well represented. Rhymesayer favorites, Atmosphere and Brother Ali are joined by the likes of Aesop Rock, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Vic Mensa, Watsky, Hopsin and Dilated Peoples, plus many more DJBooth-approved artists...and some guy named Ice Cube. Yeah, it's going to be a good day.

To check out all the info and to grab tickets, head over to SoundSetFestival.com. Last year, sold out  in advance so be sure to grab your tickets now! I really am trying to head out there - hopefully by plane and not actually running - so hope to see y'all ee May 24!
