This year's 2013 Boom DJ Battle promises to be a great event for DJ's or anyone who loves music and simply wants to have a great time. The Boom DJ Battle is the country's largest under 21 DJ competition that has the top young DJ talent all over the country compete against one another for Boom DJ Supremacy. The registration for the contest is now open to all DJ's ages 14-21 with registration closing on Thursday May 30th. Finalists will be chosen on June 3rd and the final competition and other festivities will be held at Toyota park on June 15th 2013 at the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash. Details inside.

The biggest and baddest world DJ Competition is going viral! The DMC turntablist championship is now also an online competition. Introducing the DMC Online DJ Championship where turntablists all over the world are able to send in videos in order to compete against other worldwide DJ hopefuls. So whether you are interested in competing or simply voting for a winner, all you have to do is visit the site and sign-up! Videos can be submitted on February 14th and round one of competition begins on March 3rd, so hurry up and get it crackin! (Links, Rules, and Sign-up Inside).

The DMC World DJ competition is celebrating 30 years of staging the greatest turntablist battles of all time and with it comes LOTS of festivities all across the United States that serve as both competition and showcases. This year, there will be many previous champion DJ's traveling around the US to both show off the skills and to host the regional competitions that will lead up to the DMC US finals on August 3rd in NYC. This year's Guitar Center (ATL) Spin-Off DJ battle competition was a huge success. The battle was held on Sunday October 27th at the Marietta, Georgia Guitar Center retail store and they had a packed house with spectators out the door trying to catch a glimpse. Legends such as Jaycee, DJ Sky, Shakim, Andre 3000, DJ Scream, and more were on hand to take in the festivities. There were a total of eight competing DJ's and we've got a couple of the sets and results to share with you for this week's Turntablist Video Friday episode.

The 2013 Online DMC Championships are starting to wind down with the top-three Round 6 finalists being announced by the DMC judges. The top three performances which took top honors this week were sets by DJ Topic, Ritchie Ruftone, and Erick Jay. There was a first place tie between DJ Topic and Ritchie Ruftone with Erick Jay coming in third. Check out these three incredible performances and check back in another couple weeks when the 2013 DMC Online Champion is crowned.

The winner of the 2013 Online DMC DJ Championships has been announced by the DMC judges. The performance which took top honors for the entire competition was by JON1ST from the UK who does some seriously crispy scratching and out-of-this-world juggling in one of the best performances I've seen to date. Watch this phenomenal set by as he rips it up on a set of Technics 1210's and a new Rane Sixty-Two Mixer and get ready to see him at the World DMC DJ Championships in a few short weeks.
