After reviewing the brand new RANE SEVENTY-TWO scratch mixer for Serato DJ, we found that there are more features to highlight than a simple review could possibly cover. Instead, we decided to create a handful of tutorial videos in order to show users how to get the most out of their RANE SEVENTY-TWO mixer.

Faders

Our first tutorial shows how to adjust the line faders and crossfader. In this video, we open the top panel of the RANE SEVENTY-TWO in order to access the faders and make all of the necessary adjustments.

Effects

The second tutorial highlights all of the effects that can be used with the RANE SEVENTY-TWO. They have Fader effects, Pad effects, Serato DJ effects, and onboard RANE FLEX effects. We break down all of the above to eliminate mass confusion.

Utility Settings

In our third tutorial, we take a look at all of the different settings that can be altered when using the mixer. For example, DJ's can change the screen brightness, adjust the effects, and change the RCA input levels using the Utility Settings Menu.

Decksaver Cover

In our final tutorial, we take a quick look at ways to protect the RANE SEVENTY-TWO mixer from damage—before, during, and after a gig—by using a Decksaver Poly-carbonate cover.

The RANE SEVENTY-TWO is an expensive and complicated new DJ device, but it's also our favorite scratch mixer due to the superb build quality, hi-res screen, and extra functionality.
