The new Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S3 is a four-channel DJ controller that comes bundled with Traktor Pro 3 for computers and Traktor DJ for iOS devices. The Traktor S3 has more features than the S2 MK3 that was recently released but also sits below the S4 MK3 in price-point and features.

The Traktor Kontrol S3 has a microphone input and an auxiliary RCA input that can both be routed individually to Deck D for performances. RCA, XLR, and TRS outputs work with a wide range of setups.

The Traktor Kontrol S3 features full-sized metal top jog wheels that feel great and have high resolution. The S3 has the new Mixer effects that make it simple for DJ’s to add a little flare to their performance on the fly.

Pros

  • Full Sized 4-channel DJ controller for Traktor
  • Comes bundled with Traktor Pro 3 and Traktor DJ 2 iOS App
  • Good Inputs & Outputs — Master RCA/XLR, Booth TRS, Aux IN, IOS Port & MIC
  • Great full-sized jog wheel feel

Cons

  • Price $650 — as compared to other controllers in price range
  • Cheaper plastic construction, like the S2 MK3
  • Lack of individual Traktor Effects Modules

Traktor Kontrol F1 Tutorial Videos

The Traktor Kontrol F1 has been making huge waves in the DJ performance world. We recently released our full HD-Video review of the new Traktor 2.5 software and the F1 controller which stated that there would be a rather steep learning curve before most "normal" playback style DJ's could seriously get into the remix decks. Native Instruments has heard everyone's remarks and has responded with a series of Traktor Kontrol F1 tutorial videos to help make the remix decks more accessible.

NI Traktor Kontrol D2 Unboxing [Video]

NI has sent us two of their newest compact DJ controllers for Traktor called the Traktor Kontrol D2 for the full review treatment. The Traktor Kontrol D2 is essentially the "deck" section of the recently reviewed Traktor Kontrol S8 DJ controller and it sports the same hi-res screen and heavy remix/stem deck control with multicolored backlit pads and volume controls. The D2 and the S8 uses the remix deck controls to manipulate the new Stems file format. Watch our quick unboxing and first impressions video to see a fresh D2 out of the package.

Traktor Kontrol S2 Unboxing & First Impressions HD-Video

Native Instruments recently released their newest DJ Controller on the market and now we've got our hands on one for a full HD-Video review. Just as with the Traktor Kontrol S4, The Traktor Kontrol S2 is a DJ controller that works flawlessly with the new Traktor 2 software and has almost all the same features and build quality of its more expensive counterpart. The main differences being the lack of two additional channel controls and additional RCA inputs (with timecode control). If those features are not something you would miss, then the S2 might just be your best choice. The very detailed full video review is coming soon, but check out our official unboxing video to hold you over until then.
