Audio Technica AT-LP120-USB Turntable Unboxing/First Impressions Video

Since the announcement of the discontinuance of the mighty Technics 1200 turntables, DJ's everywhere have been looking at different vinyl alternatives for their DVS timecode and analog setups. About two years ago, Audio Technica came up with the AT-LP120-USB direct drive professional turntables with a striking resemblance and feel of the iconic classic Technics 1200. Audio Technica was gracious enough to send me a brand new unit to put it through our tests for a full in-depth HD-Video review. The Audio-Technica AT-LP1240-USB professional DJ turntable is one of the newest "Super-OEM" turntables to hit the market that is sure to be a big hit with professional turntablists as well as vinyl DJ's all around the World. The AT-LP1240-USB has a super-high torque direct drive motor, comes with a tinted dust cover, and has lots of cool features that DJ's will surely love. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional headphones have been in used in professional setups for performers and sound engineers around the world. The recently released Reloop RP-8000 Professional MIDI DJ turntables sport some of the familiar Super-OEM turntable DNA including the same high-torque motor and tonearm that is found on the Stanton ST-150, Reloop RP-6000, AT-LP1240, etc. The RP-8000 also has an additional digital Pitch LED display, eight rubberized MIDI pads, four MIDI layer buttons, and an over-sized encoder knob which can all be mapped to any MIDI compatible DJ software out on the market today. The main difference with these new Reloop turntables is that they have a familiar "Technics" turntable look and layout with a brushed aluminum top plate, recessed aluminum pitch sliders, and the familiar aluminum start-stop buttons found on the corners. The Pitch range of these turntables can be switched from +/- 8%, +/- 16% and +/- 50% and there are also start and stop adjustment knobs to control the speed that the platter starts and stops the track.

Audio-Technica has been supplying the Grammy Awards ceremony with excellent microphones for performances for the last fifteen years! If the performing professionals can put their trust in AT microphone quality, then so can DJ's! Audio-Technica has sent us a new 2000-Series Handheld Wireless UHF Microphone System along with a battery recharge station in order to put it through the tests and let other DJ's know how this setup works in real-world situations. This new Turntable has the similar layout of the iconic Technics 1200's that DJ's are familiar with along with some Super-OEM DNA and other minor adjustments to set it apart from the others on the market.
