The new Pioneer DJM-250 is a two-channel professional DJ mixer with the same high quality club sound components as the higher end Pioneer Models. The DJM-250 sports a three band full-kill EQ and a huge oversized High/Low Pass filter knob for each individual channel. Couple that with a bunch of inputs and outputs and you have a powerful little mixer in a compact package. Since the announcement of the discontinuance of the mighty Technics 1200 turntables, DJ's everywhere have been looking at different vinyl alternatives for their DVS timecode and analog setups. About two years ago, Audio Technica came up with the AT-LP120-USB direct drive professional turntables with a striking resemblance and feel of the iconic classic Technics 1200. Audio Technica was gracious enough to send me a brand new unit to put it through our tests for a full in-depth HD-Video review. The new Pioneer DJM-850 four-channel Traktor Scratch Certified DJ mixer is now in the DJbooth Lab for a full HD-Video review which will drop in the next couple of weeks. The Pioneer DJM-850 comes in silver or in black and can be used for Traktor Scratch Playback of external DVS timecode decks without the need to purchase an additional Traktor Audio soundcard. It's been about four years since we reviewed our last Rane mixer which was the iconic TTM-56. Those ultra-reliable battle-worthy Rane TTM mixers are still recognized as a top industry performers and DJ's still swear by them to this day. The new Rane Sixty-One mixer combines that same reliability and build quality of the TTM series with an internal DVS soundcard for vinyl or CD timecode. This mixer comes with the SSL software and timecode vinyls and CD's to get started. All you need to add is the computer and CD or turntable decks to start spinning.
