Denon Hybrid Mode Free Firmware Update Released

A couple of months ago at the Atlantic City DJ Expo of 2010, I was able to show a video on djbooth.net of the Denon DN-S3700 working in Hybrid mode on Serato and Traktor. Now the Firmware update has been released and is free to download for all Denon DN-S3700 owners. This update will allow users to use the unit with Serato (or any other DVS) without the need of timecode CD's. More information inside.

Denon DJ Officially Announces SC3900 Media Player (VIDEO UPDATE)

After teasing us with a few shaky promotional videos and news articles, Denon DJ has finally (and officially) announced the Denon SC3900 Multi-Media USB MIDI controller. This new controller boasts iPod, CD, and USB slots for playback and can be used as an all-out MIDI controller with it's buttons and sliders being fully mappable for a Computer DJ's needs. The 9-inch actively spinning platter makes the S3900 a top-choice for hip-hop and Scratch DJ's and timecode can be used without the use of CD's. Check out the press release inside for all the specs. Denon DJ SC3900 Confirmed

After teasing everyone with a quick video with DJ Switch showing off the scratching prowess of a new machine, Denon DJ has finally let the cat out of the bag! Introducing the newest Multi-Media player form Denon DJ dubbed the SC3900. The SC3900 looks very similar to the current Denon DN-S3700 with a few more MIDI and controller buttons for the DJ software users. The SC3900 will be able to play CD's, USB flash/hard drives, SD Cards (speculation), and will have a Traktor mapping from the factory to support the new Cue/Sample buttons in the upper left hand corner of the unit. 2010 DJ Expo - Denon Booth

DJbooth.net was on-hand at the DJ Expo last week in Atlantic City, NJ to bring everyone a quick look at the exhibits and cool new product features at the Denon Pro DJ booth. Silvio was on-hand to show me the new products and also the all New Denon DN-S3700 hybrid mode not only working on SSL; but working perfectly with Traktor as well! Videos and details Inside.

Vestax VCI-400 Standalone Mixer Mode (Free Update)

A few weeks ago, we brought you the full HD-Video review of the new Vestax VCI-400 Digital DJ Controller and just last week, we brought you another DIY video showing how we upgraded the crossfader to the scratch-worthy Vestax CF-X2. Now Vestax has released a free download firmware update that allows the Vestax VCI-400 controller to work as a standalone mixer without the need for any computer or USB connection. Just plug in the power cable, hit a few rear switches and you're ready to go. Check out the video and press release inside.

Traktor 2.5.1 Update Released

Native Instruments has just released the newest update for all Traktor Pro users called the Traktor PRO 2.5.1. This new update is BIG news for all Pioneer CDJ-900 and CDJ-2000 owners since this iteration will include native support and HID integration to work very nicely with Traktor Pro. Other users will find lots of other small improvements that will make everything flow and run smoother. One of my favorites is that the F1 one-shot samples will now automatically play in Non-Quantized mode.
