Electrix EBOX-44 Unboxing & First Impressions

Big shout outs to Mixware.net for sending us a brand new Electrix EBOX-44 Digital DJ USB Interface for a video review (coming soon). This 4-input and 4-output USB audio interface can be used for DVS DJ programs like mixvibes, Decadance, and Virtual DJ and will also work with all other popular DJ software as a playback and recording device. DJ Controllers

Allen & Heath's newest modular MIDI controller called the Xone:K1 is essentially a Xone:K2 MIDI controller but without the built-in stereo soundcard interface and MIDI layering capabilities. The Xone:K1 is a universal MIDI controller that can be mapped/programmed to work with any DJ software and it has six push-button rotary encoder knobs, 12 knobs, four faders, and 30 three-color backlit performance buttons to take precise control over specific software functions. We have a new Xone:K1 in the lab for the full review treatment, but check out the unboxing and first impressions video while we get to work on the official review!

DJ Controllers

The new Reloop Beatmix 4 is an entry to intermediate-level four deck digital DJ controller that comes bundled with the full Serato DJ experience. This new controller is mainly entry level in price while providing the full Serato DJ software experience (for a limited time), full RGB backlit performance pads, and aluminum-top jog wheels with an LED light ring for needle position monitoring. We now have the new Beatmix 4 in the lab for a full video review, but first we'll show you the unboxing and first impressions video so you can see all that comes in the box.

DJ Controllers

The new Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 and S4 MK2 Digital DJ controllers were just released to the public last week and we've got review units in the lab for full out video and written reviews. The new controllers boast improvements to the original designs by adding multi-color hotcue/remix deck pads, hi-res aluminum metal plate jog wheels, FLUX mode buttons, and Traktor DJ iOS compatibility. The original S2 and S4 DJ controllers were the perfect 2-channel and 4-channel mixing consoles for the Traktor software. The Traktor software has seen lots of new updates since the release of the original S2 /S4 so it's only natural that NI releases new controller interfaces to access the new advanced features such as remix decks controls and FLUX mode. We'll have the full reviews completed shortly, but check out our unboxing & first impressions videos in the meantime to see what comes in the boxes.

DJ Controllers

Pioneer DJ has recently released a brand new entry-level Digital DJ controller for their Serato DJ lineup called the DDJ-SB. This new compact and USB-Powered controller has the familiar 16 Performance Pad layout, Slip-Mode, built-in Low Pass/High Pass filter knobs, and comes bundled with Serato DJ Intro for the excellent street price of only $300. Our unboxing and first impressions video follows.

The Numark Mixtrack Quad is the 4-deck version of the newly released (and reviewed) Mixtrack Pro II Digital DJ controller. The Mixtrack Quad comes bundled with Virtual DJ LE and the user gets two additional decks/channels to mix with, multi-colored LED's on the performance pads/jog wheels, and even better construction for added durability. We're currently working on the full HD-Video and written review which will be completed shortly, but be sure to watch the unboxing and first impressions video to see what comes in the box.

DJ Controllers

Pioneer DJ has recently released the XDJ-R1 which is an all-in-one multi-media playback device and we now have one in the DJbooth.net Lab for the full review treatment. DJ's can now control the mixing, volume, fading and other functions of the XDJ-R1 from way across the room using an IOS device running the new Remotebox App. The XDJ-R1 is a very versatile playback device with CD slots, USB ports (both for MIDI software control or for Flash/Hard Drive playback), and dual screens for a true standalone capability. The newest Native Instruments DJ controller is finally in the lab for a full out HD-video review. The Traktor Kontrol F1 is the new USB DJ controller that can perfectly control the new Traktor 2.5 Remix Decks that was recently introduced to the DJ world last month. With the F1, DJ's now have the power to control one-shot samples, loops, and cue points within Traktor like never before. There's a lot to cover and we'll have the review video done shortly. The Electrix Tweaker is a cool new DJ MIDI device that can be used to control many different software types using its large number of buttons and pads. The Tweaker is a compact and portable controller that features an intuitive layout which is perfect for the studio, the stage, and the DJ booth. It would work well as a main controller or as an add-on to an existing DJ or production setup. Electrix has released a new Performance Video showing Arkaei using two Twekaers and his custom Traktor Pro mappings. Check out the video and the words from Electrix after the jump.
