Gemini has been on their grind lately releasing some new speakers and products geared towards Mobile DJ's and small event users on a budget. This time they have released the new Gemini RS-415USB Powered Loudspeaker that has on-board USB and SD card ports for direct music or track playback. There is also a bright LCD screen with controls for Play/Pause, Stop, Repeat, or Track Skip giving users the ability to locate their tracks. Mackie has been really busy lately bringing out new Thump Powered Speakers that pump out over 1000 watts each and now they are adding new affordable powered monitor speakers to their new range called the CR3 and CR4. The New Creative Reference line of Powered Monitors come with three-inch woofer (CR3) or four-inch woofer (CR4) versions and also house silk dome tweeters for great high and mid range accurate sound reproduction.

A few short weeks ago, M-Audio has announced the release of their new three-way active studio monitors called the M3-6 (with a 6-inch woofer) and the M3-8 (with an 8-inch woofer). These new monitors contain three separate amplifiers so that all three bands of the EQ range receive their own dedicated "clean" power for great sound reproduction.

Akai, the legendary studio production station company, has announced the release of two new Studio reference monitors called the RPM500 (with a 5-inch woofer) and the RPM800 (with an 8-inch woofer). These new powered monitors boast great balance, sound, and build quality at a competitive price point. Each of these RPM monitors also have High Frequency Trim, Mid-Range Boost, and Low Frequency cutoff controls along with XLR, TRS, and RCA inputs on the back. The Behringer team keeps expanding its speaker lineup and they continue with the newest subwoofer in the Eurolive lineup. The new B1200D is a 12-inch powered subwoofer with the internal 500 watt amplifier is on it's way to retail stores everywhere. We originally reviewed the Behringer Eurolive B1500D which is the 15-inch subwoofer version and we still use it for gigs and performances to this day. At this year's NAMM show, Behringer expands it's Nekkst studio monitor lineup to include a few new sizes and options for DJ's and producers on a budget. The Behringer Nekkst series monitors were created by the founder of the KRK monitors, Keith R. Klawitter, so you know they are really going to pack a punch and perform up to expectations. The Behringer Nekkst series is now available in K5 (5-inch), K6 (6-inch), K8 (8-inch), and K10 (10-inch subwoofer).
