Mackie has been really busy lately bringing out new Thump Powered Speakers that pump out over 1000 watts each and now they are adding new affordable powered monitor speakers to their new range called the CR3 and CR4. The New Creative Reference line of Powered Monitors come with three-inch woofer (CR3) or four-inch woofer (CR4) versions and also house silk dome tweeters for great high and mid range accurate sound reproduction.

The CES is in full swing right now and lots of new and exciting technologies are being announced on many different fronts. On the DJ and audio front, Hercules is announcing its entry into the world of wireless speaker systems. These wireless speaker systems will work with computers, smartphones, DJ setups, studios, and for any application where a portable or wireless speaker system would fit the bill. Gemini has been very busy making lots of new and exciting products for DJ's and performers. They are now shipping a brand new line of Powered Monitored Speakers that will be sure to fulfill all of your monitoring needs while coming in at a great price that won't break the bank. The Gemini SR Monitors are available in 5-inch, 6.5-inch and 8-inch versions with a 10-inch powered Subwoofer version to add that extra bass. Pioneer has recently announced the new S-DJ X monitor lineup that is affordable and squarely aimed at DJ's who want good performance speakers in a small form factor. The Pioneer S-DJ X range comes in either the five-inch (S-DJ50X), the six-inch (S-DJ60X), or the eight-inch (S-DJ80X) woofer configurations and have an auto on/off mode to save on power when not in use. They are powered internally by an AB amplifier and Pioneer says that the technology in the woofer design and front port found on these speakers improve air flow with “Groove Technology”. Akai, the legendary studio production station company, has announced the release of two new Studio reference monitors called the RPM500 (with a 5-inch woofer) and the RPM800 (with an 8-inch woofer). These new powered monitors boast great balance, sound, and build quality at a competitive price point. Each of these RPM monitors also have High Frequency Trim, Mid-Range Boost, and Low Frequency cutoff controls along with XLR, TRS, and RCA inputs on the back.
