Mackie has been really busy lately bringing out new Thump Powered Speakers that pump out over 1000 watts each and now they are adding new affordable powered monitor speakers to their new range called the CR3 and CR4. The New Creative Reference line of Powered Monitors come with three-inch woofer (CR3) or four-inch woofer (CR4) versions and also house silk dome tweeters for great high and mid range accurate sound reproduction.

Mackie has been really busy lately bringing out new Thump Powered Speakers that pump out over 1000 watts each and now they are adding new affordable powered monitor speakers to their new range called the CR3 and CR4. The New Creative Reference line of Powered Monitors come with three-inch woofer (CR3) or four-inch woofer (CR4) versions and also house silk dome tweeters for great high and mid range accurate sound reproduction.

These new CR3 and CR4 monitors come with RCA and quarter-inch inputs along with a headphone output and AUX (mini) input on the front panel of one of the speakers to connect smartphones or other devices. There's also a conveniently located volume control knob with a green LED ring that lets you known they are on. They also come with isolation pads that can angle the speakers towards the users and stop vibration from the surface. These speakers are perfect for desktop or small workstation use, especially when the user wants a small set of speakers to get accurate playback of the original source material. Pioneer has recently announced the new S-DJ X monitor lineup that is affordable and squarely aimed at DJ's who want good performance speakers in a small form factor. The Pioneer S-DJ X range comes in either the five-inch (S-DJ50X), the six-inch (S-DJ60X), or the eight-inch (S-DJ80X) woofer configurations and have an auto on/off mode to save on power when not in use. They are powered internally by an AB amplifier and Pioneer says that the technology in the woofer design and front port found on these speakers improve air flow with “Groove Technology”. Mackie has been around for ages, but most of us know them for their huge Studio Grade Mixers that production teams all over the world use for projects of all types. Akai, the legendary studio production station company, has announced the release of two new Studio reference monitors called the RPM500 (with a 5-inch woofer) and the RPM800 (with an 8-inch woofer). These new powered monitors boast great balance, sound, and build quality at a competitive price point. Each of these RPM monitors also have High Frequency Trim, Mid-Range Boost, and Low Frequency cutoff controls along with XLR, TRS, and RCA inputs on the back. There's been lots of pro-audio speakers coming out on the market as of late and longtime speaker manufacturer Mackie decided to add some new actively powered 1000W speakers to its existing SRM and Thump Series lineups. The new SRM350 and SRM450 both exhibit the same durable build quality and portability as the originals and the new Thump Series has been completely revamped to house the new 1000W class-D internal amplifier.

A few short weeks ago, M-Audio has announced the release of their new three-way active studio monitors called the M3-6 (with a 6-inch woofer) and the M3-8 (with an 8-inch woofer). These new monitors contain three separate amplifiers so that all three bands of the EQ range receive their own dedicated "clean" power for great sound reproduction.

Hercules has recently announced their introduction into the DJ monitor speaker market with their new Hercules XPS 2.0 80 DJ Monitor. This new active (powered) monitor speaker system includes a set of two speakers each with four-inch woofers and silk-dome tweeters to satisfy your high, mid, and low output needs.
