When Serato Scratch Live 2.4 was finally released, the MixEmergency software plugin that allows SSL users to DJ with video was left out in the cold as it was incompatible with the new DJ software update. SSL video DJ users everywhere were in an uproar because they now had to switch over to the official SSL-Video plug-in to do their Video DJ sets. Now Rane/Serato has made things right by allowing Inklen to produce a new version of MixEmergency 2.1 that is now fully-compatilbe with Scratch Live 2.4.
Serato themselves does not fully support, endorse, or even recommend that its users go out and use the MixEmergency 2.1 software as their Video mixing software of choice, but since there are so many users that work with both SSL and MixEmergency; it just makes the most sense for Rane to yield to the demand. Since MixEmergency 2.1 now works with SSL 2.4, this means that the new Rane/Serato Mixers the Sixty-One and Sixty-Two are also now fully compatible with MixEmergency meaning that users who may have held off on purchasing the new software or mixers now have big incentives to upgrade.
