American Audio is on-hand at this year's NAMM 2013 show with a trio of new DJ controllers for the masses to check out. Edgar from American Audio gives Pro Audio Star (our DJ gear partners) an exclusive video look at the new American Audio ELMC-1 (compact/simple MIDI controller), the American Audio VMS DJ (2-deck VDJ controller), and the American Audio VMS Jelly (a DJ controller that glows and pulses to the sound of the music).

The American Audio ELMC-1 looks like a great controller for beginner users or for those who want a compact controller to take with them on the go. Coming in at less than $100, the ELMC-1 has the aluminum-top touch-sensitive jog wheels that I like so much, but we'll have to see how they hold up with the software integration and latency. The ELMC-1 will come with Virtual DJ LE and probably have options for Serato DJ Intro as well.

The American Audio VMS DJ is a 2-deck controller with XLR professional outputs, a microphone input, and a set of over-sized aluminum-top jog wheels for precise control. Although its not a standalone mixer, there are a set of RCA AUX inputs to route other audio through the unit in an emergency. This controller will also come with Virtual DJ LE.

The American Audio VMS Jelly is the same as the VMS DJ, but it has a clear-white finish with multi-color LED's inside that put on a cool lightshow while in use. The DJ can program a specific color to output or allow the glow to pulse to the rhythm of the music. Both VMS Series controllers will come in at under $300 when they are released to the public.

We'll do our best to get these into the lab as soon as they are released shortly. Stay tuned!
