Pioneer DDJ-SZ Serato DJ Controller

To my surprise, Pioneer has announced this new flagship controller with even more digital DJ goodness than the DDJ-SX that we reviewed last year. It's hard to believe they have made it even better, but the specs on this new machine looks really impressive. First of all, the DDJ-SZ is bigger than the DDJ-SX to give the user a truly professional feel. The DDJ-SZ is bigger because the jog wheels are now full-sized CDJ 8.1-inch jog wheels with tension adjustment to change the resistance of the motion so users can get serious tactile control over their music. The Performance pads also look bigger and they are now multi-color backlit so the user can easily see the mode of the pads at a glance. The Dual USB ports allow two different computers to connect to the DDJ-SZ to make for easy DJ transitions. The Mixer section of the DDJ-SZ is a truly professional DJM series Pioneer mixer complete with Oscillator and Sound Color FX functions and DVS functionality with Serato DJ. There's also a magnetic MAGVEL crossfader that will last for ages. All of the other DDJ-SX features/functions still look to remain in-tact including the Full Serato DJ bundling, slip mode, needle search, and built in soundcard.

The Pioneer DDJ-SZ will be available in March 2014 for with the retail price of around $2400... Check out the full press release below for more information.

Stay tuned as we get more information from the NAMM exhibit floor.
