Today’s NAMM 2015 show has been setting the internet on fire with announcements, but this one is the biggest yet… Numark has just unveiled its newest flagship controller the NS7III. In this newest version, the Numark NS7III has all the same features and layout of the NS7II controller we reviewed last year, but it also adds three new 4.3-inch full-color screens for full track and navigation information without the need to look at the laptop screen.

The new Numark NS7III almost looks identical to the NS7II; except their is an additional panel attached to the top of the unit that holds the three screens in place. It almost reminds me of the additional FX strip that was attached to the original NS7 to make the NS7FX model shortly after. Numark, in fact, will be selling the screen unit as an add-on that screws into the back of the NS7II for a few hundred bucks. It’ll plug into the USB port, and daisy chain out to the laptop. They definitely took a page out of the Numark NV book with the screens, but the Numark team decided to look at the biggest criticism of the screens and make improvements. Hence the need for a third screen in the middle of the unit which can serve as a dedicated file navigation/browser screen or it can also display parallel waveforms for easy beatmatching and juggling duties.

We all knew this would be coming sooner or later and I’m really eager to put this beast through the tests and see if we can finally put the laptop away for good. The screen add-on will cost around $300 while the new Numark NS7III will come in at around $1500 later this year.
