This morning I was greeted with a new surprising tweet from Native Instruments that is sure to have the whole DJ World buzzing! Introducing the new Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 Digital DJ Controller. Just like the Traktor Kontrol S4 (
), this new S2 controller will have many of the same features while eliminating two of the channels/decks of control that some DJ’s won’t really need (Like Most Hip-Hop DJ’s). The Kontrol S2 will be out in stores on October 4th and you know we will be one of the first to get you a complete video review.
First Impressions of the unit will be very familiar to those who already used an S4 before. You can see that they eliminated the sample deck buttons and now the cue point buttons can be used as sample deck buttons by pressing the shift key. It looks like they also eliminated the Filter knob for each individual channel as well. I assume all this is done to save on space and to be more welcoming to beginners. Never fear, because they still have the effects banks, 3-band EQ, the same nice jog wheels, and the same good faders as well. A full out Traktor Pro 2 will also come bundled with the Kontrol S2! The Price of the S2 is also nice at $670 which is less than the $1000 price for the S4. Until then, check out the specs and video demonstration to hold you over.
