Earlier today Pioneer DJ announced their two newest DJ controllers that are made to work exclusively with their new DJ software Rekordbox. The new Pioneer DDJ-RB and DDJ-RR controllers were revealed in today’s latest videos by the Pioneer DJ team.

Pioneer DDJ-RB

The new Pioneer DDJ-RB is similar to the DDJ-SB2 for Serato, but this time it is totally aimed for use on the Rekordbox software. This means that this is the entry-level DJ controller for Rekordbox but it also has a few new features from its Serato counterpart including separate transport controls that mimic the Play/Pause and Cue buttons on their popular XDJ/CDJ lineup. There are other minor changes as well such as the removal of the filter/fade which was present on the DDJ-SB2.

Pioneer DDJ-RR

The DDJ-RR is very similar to the DDJ-SR for Serato, but this one is for Rekordbox as well and includes RGB backlit pads that the original did not. The DDJ-RB and DDJ-RR are also the first controllers to support PC Master Out, for playing master output through your computer’s internal speakers or connected desktop speakers, while using the controller for your headphones at the same time. The DDJ-RR also has a new Sequence feature that allows DJ’s to perform in new ways. The DDJ-RB and DDJ-RR are available from late May at MSRPs of $249 and $699. Check out the full press release below and videos above for more information and stay tuned as we’ll definitely get these in the lab for the review treatment ASAP.
