Earlier this morning Pioneer DJ has just announced the new DDJ-SB2 entry-level Serato DJ controller. The latest iteration of the original Pioneer DDJ-SB that we reviewed last year includes all the same features with the addition of Gain control knobs, line level meters, the Pad Trans beat effect, and 4-deck control.
The Pioneer DDJ-SB2 looks very similar to the original as well, but these new features will certainly give users more ways to manipulate the mix. My main gripes with the original was the lack of LED meters and Gain knobs so that users can see at a glance the level that their tracks are playing and easily make adjustments to fix those levels on the fly. The new DDJ-SB2 addresses these issues with the gain knobs and LED feedback. The DDJ-SB2 also now has a full four-decks of control with the deck one and three controlled on the left and the deck two and four controlled on the right. It’s easy to switch between decks using the layering buttons for each deck. Check out the quick intro video below of the new DDJ-SB2 and you can also see our original video review of the Pioneer DDJ-SB to get a good idea of what the new controller will offer.
