[Video] Pioneer DJ Releases Rekordbox App

A few weeks ago, Pioneer DJ announced the availability of its new rekordbox DJ music management app for iPhone and iPod touch. The rekordbox App enables users to prepare and manage music stored on their portable devices as well as create playlists, cue/loop point and beat location settings, perform waveform analysis, and more. The recently announced XDJ-AERO system works with the new app and enables the iPhone or iPod touch to become a main source for music content. Pioneer DJ's Rekordbox music management software has just received a new update that adds even more functionality than ever before. The new Rekordbox 3.0 software allows users to Tag their music and identify tracks that mix well with other tracks for future use. There's also a new preview function that allows DJ's to listen to a mix beforehand and an all new playlist view that allows users to edit and display up to five playlists at a time.

Pioneer DJ has just announced the XDJ-R1 which is an all-in-one multi-media playback device that can be completely controlled by a wireless connection to an iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone via Pioneer's specially designed remotebox app. DJ's can now control the mixing, volume, fading and other functions of the XDJ-R1 from way across the room. The XDJ-R1 is very versatile with CD slots, USB ports (both for MIDI software control or for Flash/Hard Drive playback), and dual screens for a true standalone capability. Fresh off the heels of yesterday's new announcement made by Pioneer DJ Division regarding the release of the new DDJ-ERGO-K (Limited Edition); Pioneer has kicked it up another notch by announcing the new Pioneer XDJ-AERO Wireless Digital DJ Controller which can playback and DJ music from any Wi-Fi device such as smartphones, iPads, laptops, or any other device that is capable of using Pioneer's music managing software Rekordbox. Here's something new and interesting! The iPhone, iPod, and iPad have been getting lots of DJ Software releases these days but none of them work quite like this Morpho DJ app that has just hit the scene. Developed by Nick Bryan and Ge Wang at Stanford University, the Morpho DJ app allows DJ's to mount an iPod touch or iPhone onto each platter where the record would normally spin and the gyro and accelerometer data gets sent wirelessly to a laptop where the data is used to control the playback of digital files. The Pionner XDJ-Aero All-in-one Wireless DJ system is a compact and versatile machine that allows DJ's to playback music using many different media formats including live streaming via wireless devices running the Remotebox software or App. Pioneer has just released the new XDJ-Aero 3.0 Firmware upgrade and Rekordbox 1.2 that now allows users to control functions of the mix such as loops and effects directly from a mobile device.

Earlier this morning Pioneer DJ has released a very quick teaser video of what looks to be like their new Rekordbox software with a lot more features. Specifically, it looks like the Rekordbox software that currently handles track preparation and library management for CDJ/DJM users will now be able to work in real time with new DJ controllers and perhaps even DVS timecode vinyl setups.
