Setup & First Impressions

The Reloop RHP-5 Portable DJ Headphones are a great pair of lightweight, compact, and durable headphones that will appeal to a wide range of users. They will look very familiar to those who saw our Reloop RHP-10 DJ headphone review earlier this year as RHP-5’s are the smaller iteration of headphones in the Reloop line-up. Just because they are smaller, doesn’t mean you will sacrifice much on performance. They work great with various DJ setups and almost all the smart-phones on the market today.

Features

We tested the RHP-5’s with the newest iPhone and the Blackberry Touch V2 (one-touch voice dialing & Volume control cable), as well as the Stanton SCS.4DJ and the Vestax PMC-05proIV mixer with great responses. The RHP-5 headphones always had good sound quality and even handled the high volumes very well.

The sound isolation is also very good for these on-the-ear style headphones. Bass response was also better than expected. The price is also excellent, coming in at about $60 per set. They are available in 9 different color combinations and they have a rubberized feel to them like other Reloop products on the market today. On the downside, the Reloop RHP-5 Headphones do not have a user-replaceable cable and also does not come with a carry case or pouch for transport.

Conclusion / Recommended For

All-in-all, the Reloop RHP-5 Portable DJ headphones are great for DJ’s who don’t want to switch between a different set of headphones for DJ-ing and for MP3/smartphone playback as they work perfect as the double-duty set for all needs. The RHP-5’s are also great for cell phone users who want a lightweight set of headphones with one-touch voice dialing and slider volume controls.

Pros

  • Compact, Lightweight, & Durable Construction
  • Works Great with iPhone and Blackberry Smartphones
  • Good Sound Quality
  • Great Price-point

Cons

  • Non Replaceable Cable
  • No travel bag or case
