Samson has been making audio and digital equipment for quite some time, but I must admit that they've fallen off my personal radar until recently. For 2012 Samson has introduced a slew of new and exciting products and amongst them was the Samson Graphite 49 USB MIDI keyboard. This MIDI mappable keyboard has 49 keys, 4 huge trigger buttons, transport buttons, knobs, and so much more. This is a pretty powerful package for producers and DJ's in an affordable price. Production

Our people's over at Novation aren't exclusively in the DJ controller business. They also create some nice production products for the computer as well. Introducing their new Impulse USB MIDI keyboard line that are available in 25, 49, or 61-key models. Each keyboard has a large LCD display, eight rotary encoders, eight drum pads, and semi-weighted after-touch keys. All of the knobs, buttons, faders, and sliders can be mapped to the production software of your choice making the Impulse keyboards extremely versatile. Details inside.

Production

Alesis has announced three new USB MIDI keyboard controllers at this year's NAMM show in California. The Q-series USB MIDI controllers can easily connect to any Mac, PC, iOS devices and other MIDI modules, samplers, and synthesizers. There is a Q61 (a 61-key controller), a QX61 (a 61-key controller with programmable drumpads, knobs, and faders), and a QX25 (a 25-key controller with drumpads, knobs and buttons). Production

Debuted at CES, Line 6's Mobile Keys MIDI Keyboards have received high acclaim from both colleagues and press alike. The Mobile Keys 25 and Mobile Keys 49 are the new, lightweight, ultraportable keyboards designed to control iOS music apps on Mac and Windows computers boast velocity sensitive keys and is equipped with pitch bend and modulation wheels for additional sonic control. Production

M-Audio has just released its' intuitive new series of keyboards called the CODE. The CODE Series is a USB Midi Controller, which is available in 25, 49 and 61 keys. What makes the product so unique is that its' the first keyboard of its' kind to feature a built-in X/Y pad. The X/Y pad allows user control of effects and virtual instruments through the touch pad.

DJ Controllers

Native Instruments has just released a quick teaser video for what looks to be like a new Keyboard controller for music makers to control all the cool sounds in the KOMPLETE production library. In the teaser video, you can clearly see LED screens that show current selections and some distinct black and white keys for users to play with. I'm sure we'll know more about this new Keyboard controller soon enough, but check out the teaser video and let us know what you think it is!

DJ Controllers

The good people over at DJtechtools.com has been bringing out some pretty cool gadgets for DJ's who use today's DJ Software. DJTechTools has created a MIDI Fighter controller for button-mashing DJ's who use cue points, loops, samples and just about everything else you can use in the World of the DJ with a button. DJTechTools has now updated their successful Arcade-Button laden controller with the new MIDI Fighter 3D which brings back the 16 Arcade style buttons, along with new LED light indicators and new motion sensors so that DJ's can get into the groove while spinning at the same time. DJ Controllers

Yesterday, Allen & Heath announced a brand new modular MIDI controller called the Xone:K1. The Xone:K1 is essentially a Xone:K2 MIDI controller but without the built-in stereo soundcard interface. The Xone:K1 is a universal MIDI controller that can be mapped/programmed to work with any DJ software and it has six push-button rotary encoder knobs, 12 knobs, four faders, and 30 three-color backlit performance buttons to take precise control over specific software functions.
