Pioneer DJ has just announced that they are releasing a new lineup of "CD-less" CDJ's called the XDJ Line. The new XDJ series will feature USB ports to connect to computers for digital software playback like Traktor/Serato or to connect USB drives to DJ straight from the user library using Rekordbox. The first release of the new line is called the Pioneer XDJ-1000 and it features a familiar CDJ layout, an intuitive touch-screen, and more.

After last month's public Beta of Serato DJ 1.9.5, the official release is here and ready to go! The new Serato DJ 1.9.5 contains a host of improvements including the ability to use the Pioneer NEXUS 2 DJ setup in full working harmony. The Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 is Serato DJ compatible with the purchase of the Serato DJ Club Kit pack and the CDJ-2000NXS2 decks work in full HID mode using a USB cable or networked for single connection to the computer.

The Serato team has just released the new Serato DJ 1.3.0 DJ software that includes some welcomed upgrades to the effects and also allows all DJ controllers to use the "pioneer-inspired" Slip mode feature. The effects section receives the most attention in this upgrade which now has a new FX Expansion pack system that allows users to purchase and download additional FX packages that provide DJ's with a multitude of new effects to use in their sets.
