Serato DJ Available for Mixtrack, MC2000, & DDJ-ERGO
The new Serato DJ software (which is basically the new replacement software for Serato Itch) now provides a true upgrade path for people who are using the low-level Serato DJ Intro software with their Digital DJ Controllers. Serato DJ Intro software has a limited number of DJ functions, but DJ that own the Numark Mixtrack, Denon MC2000, or the Pioneer DDJ-ERGO now have the option to upgrade to the full Serato DJ version with much more control over the playback options and lots more features at your fingertips.
Serato DJ has just arrived on the scene last month with the arrival of the new Pioneer DDJ-SX DJ controller being the only device capable of using the Serato DJ software. The Serato team has promised to provide current Serato Itch and Serato DJ Intro DJ controller users with an upgrade or update path within the next year or so... Earlier this week, Serato has released the Serato DJ software to the users of the Numark Mixtrack, Denon MC2000, and the Pioneer DDJ-ERGO. For the (somewhat hefty) price of $199 users of these DJ controllers can now upgrade their Serato DJ Intro software over to the full Serato DJ software that provides even more functionality to their mix.
It's easy to see why these controllers are the first to get this coveted update. First, the Mixtrack Pro, DDJ-ERGO, and MC2000 have a mass market appeal meaning they sold lots and lots of DJ controllers already and they have a big market-share being that they all cost only around the $300 mark. Not everyone will need the additional features offered within the Serato DJ upgrade so make sure its something you really want before you go spending $200 on features you don't plan on integrating into your sets. Check out the features in the press release below along with the HD-Video reviews we recently completed on the DDJ-ERGO and MC2000.
We'll have more information and a full review on the Serato DJ software as soon as we get that darn Pioneer DDJ-SX DJ controller into the Lab for a full out breakdown and review coming shortly.
