Just last night, the Serato team has released updates to the Serato DJ, Serato Video, and Serato Remote software that will give users even more options than ever before. The Serato DJ 1.6.1 update adds multiple Panel View, Windows 8 compatibility, and Pioneer CDJ-850 compatibility. Serato Video adds audio/video combo effects, and the Serato Remote iPad app now has Slicer Mode.
Serato DJ 1.6.1 Update
Serato DJ is finally officially supporting the Windows 8 platform with the new update. Users can also see multiple panels at one time in order to see all of their Effects, Samples, and more on screen. The Pioneer CDJ-850 is also now compatible with Serato DJ.
Serato Video Update
Serato Video now has the option to use combo effects on both the Audio and Video at the same time and they get the option to record the entire video mix. Really cool stuff as you can see in the video.
Serato Remote Update
The Serato Remote iOS iPad App probably gets the best update yet. Users can now unlock the Slicer function right on-screen in order to jump around and remix the track on the fly. For those of you who don’t remember, the Slicer divides a portion of the song into eight smaller pieces that can be rearranged and played back in different order depending on how and when you hit the pads. The software remembers where the song would have been during playback if you hadn’t touched the slicer in the first place, so the song returns to the normal playing position when you are done “slicing” it up. The only way to get slicer if you didn’t have it on a controller already was to add the new Pioneer DDJ-SP1 to your collection. But now if you have an iPad, you can hook it up to the Serato DJ software via the Remote app and start slicing away. There are also some cool new effects that can be applied while using the slicer as seen in the video.
Head on over to the
to get the full list of updates and to download the new software versions.
