Serato (Officially) Releases SSL 2.4.3, Itch 2.2.2, & Video 1.1

Last month we brought you the story that Serato DJ's could download the latest Beta editions of Serato DJ software, and now it's all official. Today Serato officially released the newest upgrades for their three different DJ software including SSL 2.4.3, Itch 2.2.2, and Video 1.1. Last month we brought you the story that Serato DJ's could download the latest Beta editions of Serato DJ software, and now it's all official. Today Serato officially released the newest upgrades for their three different DJ software including SSL 2.4.3, Itch 2.2.2, and Video 1.1.

SSL 2.4.3 and Itch 2.2.2 adds FLAC file support, additional Serato Video 1.1 integration, and MAC OS X Mountail Lion support and a bunch of other minor tweaks and upgrades to make your Serato DJ time that much sweeter. Serato Video 1.1 now has a delay compensator to shift the video and a dedicated video view that sits nicely between the two decks on the main mixing screen within Serato. Mixemergency 2.1 Compatible with SSL 2.4

When Serato Scratch Live 2.4 was finally released, the MixEmergency software plugin that allows SSL users to DJ with video was left out in the cold as it was incompatible with the new DJ software update. SSL video DJ users everywhere were in an uproar because they now had to switch over to the official SSL-Video plug-in to do their Video DJ sets. Now Rane/Serato has made things right by allowing Inklen to produce a new version of MixEmergency 2.1 that is now fully-compatilbe with Scratch Live 2.4. Press release and links inside.

Serato DJ 1.6 Beta Released

Today, Serato DJ released the new 1.6 Beta download to the public which brings all of the other Rane DJ mixers and DVS soundcards up-to-date with the newest Serato DJ features and functions. The Rane SL2, SL3, SL4, Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, and Sixty-Eight can all now reap the benefits of using the new Serato DJ platform instead of the "soon-to-be-retired" Serato Scratch Live software. Remember, this is only a Beta release, so Serato users are warned not to use this software in live performances because its not yet fully tested.

[Video] Serato DJ 1.5 Out Now!

Serato DJ 1.5 has now been released. This means that the era of Serato Scratch Live and Itch is coming to an end. Last month Serato announced that they would combine all of their Serato based DJ software into one software to rule them all which is known as the Serato DJ 1.5 release. The new release will now work with the new Pioneer DJM-900SRT, DDJ-SR, DDJ-SP1, and the Rane Sixty-Four. Of course all of the other Serato DJ controllers are also able to work with the new Serato DJ 1.5 and there's a few bug fixes and housekeeping items addressed in this update as well.

Serato DJ Intro Software Announced

At this year's BPM show overseas, Rane has announced a new and affordable DJ software called Serato Itch. Serato Itch will be able work with different DJ controllers from lots of manufacturers for DJ playback. Right now, Serato Itch will work with the Vestax Typhoon and the VCI-100MkII DJ controllers and is available for free download at the Serato website. The Serato Intro software is like another version of Scratch Live and Serato Itch minus some features that beginner and playback DJ's don't need. Download link and press release after the jump.

[Video] Serato DJ 1.3.0 Released

The Serato team has just released the new Serato DJ 1.3.0 DJ software that includes some welcomed upgrades to the effects and also allows all DJ controllers to use the "pioneer-inspired" Slip mode feature. The effects section receives the most attention in this upgrade which now has a new FX Expansion pack system that allows users to purchase and download additional FX packages that provide DJ's with a multitude of new effects to use in their sets.

[Video] Serato Video 1.1 Rundown

Serato has just released the new versions of SSL and Itch last week along with the new Serato Video 1.1 plug-in. The new Serato Video 1.1 has some great new features including, Delay Compensation, a dedicated Video View, Auto/Random Transitions, and the Media Crate.
