Serato (Officially) Releases SSL 2.4.3, Itch 2.2.2, & Video 1.1

Last month we brought you the story that Serato DJ's could download the latest Beta editions of Serato DJ software, and now it's all official. Today Serato officially released the newest upgrades for their three different DJ software including SSL 2.4.3, Itch 2.2.2, and Video 1.1. Last month we brought you the story that Serato DJ's could download the latest Beta editions of Serato DJ software, and now it's all official. Today Serato officially released the newest upgrades for their three different DJ software including SSL 2.4.3, Itch 2.2.2, and Video 1.1.

SSL 2.4.3 and Itch 2.2.2 adds FLAC file support, additional Serato Video 1.1 integration, and MAC OS X Mountail Lion support and a bunch of other minor tweaks and upgrades to make your Serato DJ time that much sweeter. Serato Video 1.1 now has a delay compensator to shift the video and a dedicated video view that sits nicely between the two decks on the main mixing screen within Serato. Rane has just released a slew of new beta updates for their Serato DJ software products that are sure to bring smiles to many DJ's faces. They've released the Serato Scratch Live 2.4.3, Serato Itch 2.2.2, and Serato Video 1.1 public betas for DJ's all over to world to Download for free and check out the new improvements that these releases exhibit. The SSL and Itch new releases both support FLAC music files as well as new updates to the way the Video 1.1 plugin works with the software. Serato DJ 1.5 has now been released. This means that the era of Serato Scratch Live and Itch is coming to an end. Last month Serato announced that they would combine all of their Serato based DJ software into one software to rule them all which is known as the Serato DJ 1.5 release. The new release will now work with the new Pioneer DJM-900SRT, DDJ-SR, DDJ-SP1, and the Rane Sixty-Four. Of course all of the other Serato DJ controllers are also able to work with the new Serato DJ 1.5 and there's a few bug fixes and housekeeping items addressed in this update as well.

At this year's BPM show overseas, Rane has announced a new and affordable DJ software called Serato Itch. Serato Itch will be able work with different DJ controllers from lots of manufacturers for DJ playback. Right now, Serato Itch will work with the Vestax Typhoon and the VCI-100MkII DJ controllers and is available for free download at the Serato website. The Serato Intro software is like another version of Scratch Live and Serato Itch minus some features that beginner and playback DJ's don't need. Download link and press release after the jump.

Serato DJ 1.2 is now available for download to all Serato DJ controller users. The update also finally brings the Serato DJ software upgrade to Serato Itch users who own the Vestax VCI-380, the Numark NS7, Mixdeck, Mixdeck Express and the Pioneer DDJ-S1. The Serato DJ 1.2 upgrade also brings with it the new Multi-FX feature which allows DJ's to chain up to six different effects together at once. The Serato team has just released the new Serato DJ 1.3.0 DJ software that includes some welcomed upgrades to the effects and also allows all DJ controllers to use the "pioneer-inspired" Slip mode feature. The effects section receives the most attention in this upgrade which now has a new FX Expansion pack system that allows users to purchase and download additional FX packages that provide DJ's with a multitude of new effects to use in their sets.

Serato has just made a huge announcement. The new Serato DJ 1.5.0 software update is now upon us and with it comes digital Vinyl and CDJ control. Serato DJ 1.5.0 will immediately work perfectly with the newly announced Rane Sixty-Four mixer, Pioneer DJM-900SRT mixer, and the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 sub-controller when they are released in October, with all of the SSL soundcards and Rane/Serato certified mixers following suit in November with the release of the Serato DJ 1.6.0 beta.

The Pioneer DDJ-S1 was released back in 2011 and was designed to work with perfectly Serato Itch. We reviewed the controller and found it to be a great DJ control surface for Serato software DJ's. Now that Serato Itch software has been replaced by Serato DJ with a better layout and new features, the DDJ-S1 owners can now reap the benefits by downloading the new firmware and Free Serato DJ upgrade to get the full use out of their controller.
