Shortkut Serato DJ Performance [Video]

DJ Shortkut is one of my favorite turntablists of all time. He is one of the members of the iconic scratch crew the Invisibl Skratch Piklz and he rocks parties and live DJ sets like no other. DJ Shortkut is a Serato DJ and he uses the new software along with the new Pioneer DJM-S9 Mixer to show his skills to the masses. Check out this rare performance video after the jump.

Turntablism

I am a huge fan of all things turntablist related and a lot of the love of the game came from none other than D-Styles. For the past fifteen years I watched D-Styles (and the whole Skratch Piklz Team) rip it up on the decks like no one else can. In this latest performance video from the Serato Icon Artist Series, D-Styles shows why he is still one of the best in the game making the turntable sound like a real live saxophone player getting busy over the beat. Earlier today, Pioneer DJ has announced a brand new two-channel scratch/battle DJ Mixer that works in perfect harmony with Serato DJ and has all of the Pioneer FX that DJ's have come to love. The new Pioneer DJM-S9 Serato DJ Mixer sports eight RGB backlit pads for each channel, dual USB ports for easy DJ switch-overs, and a new Magvel Pro scratch crossfader that has many unique adjustments and features for todays scratch DJ's. DJ Jazzy Jeff is one of the most iconic names in the Hip-Hop DJ Game and it's been that way for quite a long time now! DJ Jazzy Jeff (known for making so many classics with the Fresh Prince), is one of the main reasons I started DJ-ing in the first place. He's one of the most influential DJ's in the industry and Serato decided to pay homage by recording a few Serato Icon Artist profile videos to highlight this legendary DJ. Mixers

DJ Premier is one of the most influential Hip-Hop DJ's and Producers of our time. Premier has a signature NYC style and sound that took the game to new heights in the late 80's and 90's. Premier continues to progress as a DJ and Producer and has worked with so many artists in the hip-hop industry that its hard to keep count. Turntables

DJ Jazzy Jeff is one of the best DJ's in the World and one of the main reasons I started spinning on the turntables in the first place. Serato has always been supportive of the World Traveling (Vinyl Destination) DJ and they decided to create a new limited edition Jazzy Jeff vinyl pressing which includes a case that looks like the aluminum carry case that Jazzy Jeff would take on the road with him. The set comes with two Serato timecode vinyl for DJ's to use with Serato DJ.

Turntables

Last night Serato DJ has released a new update to their flagship Software to provide additional compatibility for new products. This new Serato DJ 1.7.6 update specifically allows users to now purchase a new 24-bit Denon DS1 professional DJ soundcard for Serato Noisemap vinyl or CD control with external mixers and turntables or CD decks. The new Serato DJ 1.7.6 update also has a few other fixes for minor bugs within the software. Check out the quick videos that show the new Denon DS1 in action both with Vinyl and CD setups.

Steve Aoki is one of the biggest DJ's in the world and Serato DJ has added his name to their list of famous DJ's who are happily using their technology in the DJ booths all over the world when they tour. Steve Aoki gives this cool inside interview where he touches up on many different aspects of the DJ life and another video shows the gear he uses in his performances.

Turntablism

The Invisibl Skratch Piklz is one of the most influential DJ crews of all time. They put Turntablism on the map for many people (including myself) and I can see no other way to pay them homage than to share their skills with the world.
