Sterling Audio, an audio company that is presenting three new studio reference monitors; the MX8, the MX5 and the MX3. DJ Tech has just released a cool new product for 2016 called the DJ BOOMBOX. This new device looks a lot like the huge music boxes from back in the day that people used to carry with them everywhere to play the radio and cassette tapes. DJ Tech updates this old format by bringing out the new DJ BOOMBOX that allows users to connect microphones, Bluetooth devices, and auxillary RCA & TRS inputs while playing back the sound through the dual five-inch woofers & one-inch tweeters. The setup also has a Five-Hour rechargeable battery on-board so users can take the show on the road.
Pioneer just introduced a new mixer and a new CDJ this year, and have brought replacement parts to their headphone lines this year at NAMM. They also have come out with new Series of powered Speakers for DJ's dubbed the XPRS series. It is comprised of the XPRS15 and XPRS12 two-way full range speakers, and the XPRS215S dual 15-inch subwoofer. Check out the details after the jump!
We here at DJbooth.net can appreciate the Alto Professional speakers for their good value and quality sound. We recently reviewed their flagship Black Series Speakers and found that they were an excellent setup for Mobile DJ's and professional installations. Alto Professional has recently announced a new TSL115 15-inch; two-way powered speaker with a lighted LED ring around the woofer that can pulse and glow to the beat in different patterns.
Pioneer has just announced that they are releasing a new lineup of powered studio monitors for DJ's and producers. The new Pioneer RM-05 & RM-07 have HD coaxial drivers that place both the woofer and the tweeter on the same axis for superb sound and response across the frequency ranges. Around the back, there is a three-band EQ as well as unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs. The RM-05 has a five inch woofer while the RM-07 has a seven inch woofer.
Alto Professional has just introduced a brand new line-up of powered speakers that are lightweight, versatile in setup, and affordable in price. The new Alto Professional TX Series line of two-way, active loudspeakers include the TX8, TX10, TX12 and TX15 with different size woofers apparent in the naming. Each TX features a bi-amplified design, high-efficiency drivers, trapezoidal enclosures, and steel grilles for protection.
The recently announced Cerwin Vega P1000X powered 10-inch two-way loudspeakers are on full display at this year's Atlantic City DJ Expo and we had DJ Spark give us the video rundown to see where they fit in the CV range. Mackie has been really busy lately bringing out new Thump Powered Speakers that pump out over 1000 watts each and now they are adding new affordable powered monitor speakers to their new range called the CR3 and CR4. Cerwin Vega has recently announced the newest speaker in its P-series lineup called the P1000X. The new P1000X is the new two-way speaker that sports a 10-inch woofer and an internal 1000 watt amplifier. The P1000X compliments the Cerwin Vega P1500X 15-inch two-way speaker and the P1800SX 18-inch subwoofer that recently received top scores in our video reviews.
There's been lots of pro-audio speakers coming out on the market as of late and longtime speaker manufacturer Mackie decided to add some new actively powered 1000W speakers to its existing SRM and Thump Series lineups. The new SRM350 and SRM450 both exhibit the same durable build quality and portability as the originals and the new Thump Series has been completely revamped to house the new 1000W class-D internal amplifier.
At this year's NAMM 2014 show, American Audio announced that they would release a new active speaker lineup with good features and low costs that would appease DJ's and performers on a budget. That range is the CPX Speaker line and they are now released and ready for purchase at any local retailer. The CPX active speakers all have built-in class D amplifiers and they come in lots of different size configurations to suit the space or venue needs. There is a CPX-8A (two-way speaker with 8-inch woofer $150), CPX-10A (two-way speaker with 10-inch woofer $200), CPX-12A (two-way speaker with 12-inch woofer $250), and CPX-15A (two-way speaker with 15-inch woofer $300).
At this year's NAMM show, Cerwin Vega has announced new additions to their desktop speaker lineup that would fit nicely into a compact studio or DJ setup. The Cerwin Vega XD Desktop speakers are all internally powered which are now offered in a new four-inch XD4 full-range, five-inch XD5 full range, and eight-inch XD8 powered subwoofer to add to the existing XD3 speaker offering. These speakers are nice and compact but still sport the same high-quality sound and bass characteristics that CV is known for.

The Pioneer S-DJ X range comes in either the five-inch (S-DJ50X), the six-inch (S-DJ60X), or the eight-inch (S-DJ80X) woofer configurations and have an auto on/off mode to save on power when not in use. They are powered internally by an AB amplifier and Pioneer says that the technology in the woofer design and front port found on these speakers improve air flow with “Groove Technology”. About two short years ago, we reviewed the Alto Professional TS speaker lineup and we were happy to report that these speakers were great performers for the money. Now the Alto Professional team expands its range with their new top-of-the-line speakers called the Black Series. The new Alto Professional Black series two-way speakers come in 10-inch, 12-inch, and 15-inch powered configurations and they all include wireless connectivity and an internal amplifier that's good for 1200 watts of continuous power.
A few short weeks ago, M-Audio has announced the release of their new three-way active studio monitors called the M3-6 (with a 6-inch woofer) and the M3-8 (with an 8-inch woofer). The Behringer team keeps expanding its speaker lineup and they continue with the newest subwoofer in the Eurolive lineup. The new B1200D is a 12-inch powered subwoofer with the internal 500 watt amplifier is on it's way to retail stores everywhere. We originally reviewed the Behringer Eurolive B1500D which is the 15-inch subwoofer version and we still use it for gigs and performances to this day. LINE6 has introduced a new powered speaker lineup for mobile DJ's and performers called the StageSource Smart Speakers. Late last year, we brought you the full video reviews of the new Alto Professional TrueSonic line of powered speakers. We tested the powered 12-inch two-way speaker, the TS112A and the powered 15-inch subwoofer, the TSSUB15. Both pieces had very nice quality and great sound fidelity for the price they are sold. Now Alto Professional is introducing their TrueSonic Wireless loudspeakers that are meant to deliver great sound remotely from an iPhone, iPad, or other wireless devices.
