As 2017 begins, we are taking a quick look back at the best selling DJ equipment for 2016. The second in our series includes the top three best-selling DJ multi-media players with the sales info provided by our friends at

The DJ Hookup

store that has all of your DJ and production equipment needs covered when you need new gear.

DJ multimedia players have been heavily dominated by Pioneer DJ for the past 10+ years. Denon DJ has been trying to make a dent in that market stronghold since they first released their HC and DN lineup of media players that never took off as much as they thought. Just last week at the NAMM show for 2017, Denon unveiled their new PRIME series of decks and mixers that may make a bigger impact when they are released in the next few months. For now though, the domination of Pioneer DJ's media players and mixers in club booths, festivals, and in private bedroom settings is unwavering. Check out the below list of the best-selling multimedia players of 2016 are:

1.

Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2

2.

Pioneer XDJ-1000

3.

Numark PT01 Scratch

The Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 which we reviewed earlier last year was an awesome machine with lots of bells and whistles that make this a great deck for people who want to use a computer or for those who want a standalone unit using Rekordbox. Check out our video review to see why everyone loves this top-tier deck.

The Pioneer XDJ-1000 is the first media deck that Pioneer created without a CD tray. The XDJ-1000 has now been updated with an MK2 version, but the differences are minor and the units are nearly identical. The XDJ-1000 has a full-sized jog wheel platter, a full color touch screen, and most of the abilities of the much more expensive older brother the CDJ-2000NXS2...

The Numark PT-01 Scratch is the best selling turntable for all of 2016 even though its only been released within the last six months of the year and it even outsold other media players to end up in this list. This just goes to show how big the portablist/portablism market is right now where people want to be able to scratch anywhere at anytime and for a great introductory price. The PT-01 Scratch review has just been completed and I ended up keeping mine. Excellent all-in-one compact solution for all DJ's who want to get wicked with a small scratch machine. Be sure to check out our full review video as well...

This is some very interesting info and we'll have even more top three categories shortly to let you know what is coming out on top. Big shout-out to
