Traktor Kontrol X1 Sample Deck Mappings & Free Pro Upgrade

Native Instruments has just launched a limited-time offer for owners of the Traktor Kontrol X1 DJ Controller. From now through September, all the owners of a registered Kontrol X1 will receive a free Traktor Pro 2 upgrade which will give users access to four decks of control, sample decks, new loop recorder, cue functions, and the new effects. From now on, the Traktor Kontrol X1 will now ship with an additional overlay which shows the controls for the sample deck features in Traktor 2. Just last week I put out a video showing the Traktor Kontrol S4 DJ controller working with external decks using timecode in order to operate all four decks simultaneously with a lot more control. This video was done on Traktor Pro 2 at the time, but now Native Instruments is giving away a FREE "Scratch Upgrade Kit" which will allow users to mix and scratch with timecode via the directly connected turntables or CD decks. A few short weeks ago, information surfaced from a popular DJ equipment sales site regarding a brand new Traktor X1 controller that was set to be released by NI the end of this summer. The rumors are now confirmed as the new Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 has officially been announced by Native Instruments on Monday.

The new Traktor Pro 2.5 software and Traktor Kontrol F1 Controller are set to arrive on store shelves everywhere next month. In the meantime, Native Instruments is providing us with a slew of new videos and information regarding the new 2.5 software update and F1 controller to hold everyone over until the actual release. The new Traktor X1 has most of the same functions as the original X1 but adds a new touch-strip section in the middle of the unit that can control effects parameters, nudging for beatmatching, and for jumping to a particular section in a song.
