Vestax HMX-05 Headphones Announced

One of the items that may have been lost in the sea of new DJ gear at this year's BPM a few weeks ago is the new Vestax HMX-05 DJ Headphones. The new Vestax HMX-05 headphones have the new Vestax "Red and Black" color scheme, a detachable pro-grade cable, 40mm Bass-Heavy drivers, and they can fold up nicely so DJ's can take them on the road easily. We'll get a set of these in the lab for a full video review as soon as possible. Check out the press release and links after the jump.

The Vestax HMX-05 Professional DJ Headphones are now in the DJbooth.net lab for a full HD-Video and written review. The new Vestax HMX-05 headphones have the familiar Vestax "Red and Black" color scheme, a detachable pro-grade cable, 40mm Bass-Heavy drivers, and they can fold up nicely so DJ's can take them on the road easily. Vestax has just announced the arrival of their new high-quality replaceable headphone cables that work well with their HMX-05 headphones or any other compatible DJ headphones called the HFC-1 cable. These cables are available in white, purple, green, or red and feature a matching flat cable that will never tangle. The HFC-1 will be available in October 2013 for only $10.

We reviewed the Vestax HMX-01 headphones in black and red a few months ago, and now Vestax has released the white and red edition to compliment the White and Red mixers and controllers in their lineup. The Vestax VCI-400DJ Serato DJ edition also dawns the white paint-job while the new Vestax VCI-380 is also available in white. Now these vestax controllers have a nice set of HMX-01 white headphones to match.

The New Urbanears Zinken Professional DJ Headphones are now available for purchase around the globe and we've got a brand new set in the Lab for a full out HD-Video review. The Zinken headphones have metal reinforcements, 40mm drivers, a unique detachable cable, and a built-in mic and button for one-touch phone calls on smartphones. The Zinken are advertised as being for Pro-DJ use and we'll put those claims to the test shortly. The review will be completed within the next week or so, but check out the unboxing and first impressions video to hold you over until then.

Today, Pioneer has announced their newest DJ headphones, the HDJ-700. It looks to me like the new HDJ-700 will likely replace the entry-level HDJ-500 Headphones that we reviewed some four years ago. The HDJ-700 headphones have an "on-ear" fit come in a few different color schemes. The HDJ-700 have a replaceable/removable cable, and one earcup can swivel for easy one-ear monitoring. American Audio has just announced the ETR-1000 Professional DJ Headphones will be available in late May 2013 and were designed by DJ Champion ETRONIK. These new headphones have 40mm drivers, real leather padding, and the swivel/rotate design for many different DJ monitoring styles. They come bundled with a flat cable (that doesn't tangle), a headphone bag, and a 1/4-inch adapter to round out the package. Pioneer has just announced a brand new set of on-ear headphones for professional DJ's who like a more minimalist look and ultra-clear sound. The new Pioneer HDJ-C70 headphones have a compact and lightweight design with 40mm on ear drivers with comfortable memory foam in the earcups that can rotate 90-degrees in either direction. The Pioneer HDJ-C70 also has removable and replaceable headband, earpads, housing, cushion and cables.
