Just last week, Vestax announced that the new Serato DJ Software now works with their Typhoon Digital DJ Controller. Vestax Typhoon users can download a free trial for 14 days, or upgrade for $129. Serato DJ brings the new features of the full software such as Instant Doubles and iZotope FX to Typhoon users.

The Vestax Typhoon is a small and compact DJ controller that can now be more powerful than ever before with this new full-featured DJ software. The price of a brand new Vestax Typhoon costs only about double the $129 asking price of Serato DJ, so one should really make sure the upgrade is worth the investment for their DJ needs. The Vestax VCI-380 has been out on the market for a little over a year now, but its still one of my favorite controllers to use with Serato. During our HD-Video review, we loved the build quality, tight jog wheels, and excellent fader feel along with the a set of input and output options that are available to the users. The VCI-380 now gets a free software upgrade from Serato Itch to the new and improved Serato DJ and Martin from the Serato team gives us a quick demo video of the new look and features. Serato DJ 1.2 is now available for download to all Serato DJ controller users. The update also finally brings the Serato DJ software upgrade to Serato Itch users who own the Vestax VCI-380, the Numark NS7, Mixdeck, Mixdeck Express and the Pioneer DDJ-S1. The Serato DJ 1.2 upgrade also brings with it the new Multi-FX feature which allows DJ's to chain up to six different effects together at once. The Vestax VCI-400 Digital DJ controller can now be purchased with the full Serato DJ software already bundled and ready to go. Vestax has now officially announced the Vestax VCI-400DJ which, not only comes with Serato DJ, but also dawns a new color scheme and skin which have commands and features that correspond to the features found in the new software. I liked the VCI-400 so much that I kept my review unit and even upgraded the crossfader to the scratch-happy CF-X2. The perfect Serato DJ integration is yet another reason for people to take a good look at the VCI-400 if they are in the market for a new DJ controller. Check out the full press release inside.

Just because someone is using the lite version of a DJ software doesn't mean the DJ can't pull off some great mixing and show some serious skills on these new entry-level DJ controllers that are out there on the market. We reviewed the Pioneer DDJ-SB controller about a year ago and Sam from the Serato team performs a quick routine using only Serato DJ Intro and some of the entry-level controllers that all cost under $300 and are bundled with the software. If you need more horsepower, then the user can upgrade to the full Serato DJ software which has more features.

Anyone who was waiting to purchase the Serato DJ Full Software edition upgrade for their DJ controller need not wait any longer! Serato has announced that for a limited time users can now upgrade their Serato DJ Intro controller to the Full Serato DJ software for only $99. Users looking to upgrade to Serato DJ+Video will only shell out $150. I'm not sure how long this deal will last, but it's pretty safe to say that it won't be long. Introducing the new replacement software for Serato Itch enabled DJ Controllers which will now be called Serato DJ. This new software is a huge breakthrough for the Serato team as this new Serato DJ software will allow DJ's who use Serato DJ Intro an upgrade path to a real full-featured software (finally!). Serato DJ will be fully MIDI mappable allowing DJ's to use a combination of different controllers to achieve the ultimate control. The new Serato DJ software that comes bundled with the new Pioneer DDJ-SX will soon be released to all current Serato Itch Users and Serato DJ Intro Users within the next few months. This newly updated software will have quite a few differences from what those DJ's are normally used to, so the Serato team decided to get everyone familiar with Serato DJ by releasing a slew of new Tutorial videos so users can see exactly what's changed and how to use the features. The new Serato DJ software (which is basically the new replacement software for Serato Itch) now provides a true upgrade path for people who are using the low-level Serato DJ Intro software with their Digital DJ Controllers. Serato DJ Intro software has a limited number of DJ functions, but DJ that own the Numark Mixtrack, Denon MC2000, or the Pioneer DDJ-ERGO now have the option to upgrade to the full Serato DJ version with much more control over the playback options and lots more features at your fingertips.
